WooCommerce Shipment Tracking

Overview

This extension is designed for a focused post-purchase task: recording shipment information against an existing WooCommerce order and giving customers a link to the carrier. Store staff add a provider, tracking number, tracking URL, and shipped date from the order editor; additional tracking entries can be added for split shipments. Built-in providers can generate links automatically, while a Custom Provider option covers carriers that are not listed. The main limitation is workflow scope. The documentation describes adding tracking to orders, rather than buying postage, importing carrier events, or automatically retrieving tracking numbers. Saving tracking details alone does not send an email; the saved information is included when WooCommerce generates applicable order emails, such as the Completed Order notification. Stores using an external fulfillment or label system should test their handoff and email templates on staging, and confirm that their preferred carrier, customer account layout, and order-status process behave as expected.

Compatibility and setup context

• The marketplace lists requirements of WordPress 7.0 or later, WooCommerce 10.9 or later, and PHP 7.4 or later.
• The marketplace lists testing with WordPress 7.1 and WooCommerce 11.1; verify these requirements against the versions running on staging.
• The extension is intended for stores that obtain labels or tracking numbers outside WooCommerce; stores using WooCommerce Shipping may already have tracking saved automatically.
• Saving tracking details does not itself send an email; test the relevant order-status notification and email template before going live.
